ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (DNA):National Book Foundation (NBF) of Pakistan has explored opportunities for cooperation with Iranian literary and publishing institutions to promote children’s literature, publish quality books and strengthen international literary ties.
The initiative aims to improve the availability of quality and informative literature for Pakistani children, foster a reading habit among young readers and provide them with greater exposure to international literature.
On the sidelines of the Baku International Book Fair 2026, Murad Ali Mohmand, Director (Headquarters) of the National Book Foundation, met with a representative of the Iran Book and Literature House.
The meeting focused on potential collaboration with two prominent Iranian publishing institutions specialising in children’s literature, said a message received here on Sunday.
Discussions also covered opportunities to expand literary connections between the two countries through the publication of selected books.
During the meeting, NBF requested free publishing rights for selected English-language children’s books for publication in Pakistan.
The initiative aims to bring quality literary works to Pakistani readers that can contribute to the intellectual, educational and creative development of children. The request for publishing rights forms part of NBF’s efforts to increase the availability of international literature for young readers and explore new opportunities for producing quality publications.
The proposed collaboration with Iranian publishing institutions represents another step in these efforts and could pave the way for introducing selected titles to Pakistani readers while further strengthening literary and cultural relations between the two countries.
