NATIONAL DAY OF THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND: Ties between Pak, Thailand moving in upwards direction

ISLAMABAD, DEC 4 /DNA/ – Shazia Marri, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety & Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has said that biteral relation between Pakistan and Thailand are moving in upward trajectory.

She said in her speech on the occasion 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand where she participated as chief guest in Islamabad.

While addressing the diplomatic community present on the occasion she noted that bilateral relations are marked with cooperation and convergence of perspectives on multitude of regional and multilateral issues.  She said that 110% increase in bilateral trade between the two countries is a clear indication that they enjoy good and cordial relationship.

She highlighted the cultural and historical similarities of the both counties and emphasised that like Thailand Pakistan also supports and promotes multilateralism and regional cooperation.

She also stressed upon the importance of people to people contact to further boost the bilateral relations between two countries.

Ambassador of Thailand Chakkrid Krachaiwong in his remarks thanked the guests for attending the reception. He also thanked the chief guest for gracing the occasion despite her busy schedule. The ambassador introduced Thai artists who came all the way from Thailand to perform in the reception.

The ambassador also touched upon various aspects of the bilateral relations and hoped these relations will further be strengthened in the coming days. The guests were served with traditional Thai cuisines. The mesmerizing performance of the Thai cultural troupe left the audiences spell-bound. The cultural dances highlighted various aspects of Thai culture and social life. Guests praised the dance performances and appreciated Thai embassy efforts to promote especially cultural linkages between Pakistan and Thailand.
