Biggest social networking site Instagram owned by Meta introduces “notes” feature in Pakistan on Wednesday, which allows users to add emoticons and personal thoughts in textual form.

Instagram already launched this feature long ago for rest of the world. Users can update their thoughts using emojis and text up to 60 characters popping next to profile picture in the direct messages (DM) page. It is thought to be a similar feature to social networking site Twitter.

This feature also allows users to select between two options, “Followers” and “Close friends”, similar to uploading stories.

Users can also reply separately to “notes” on the profiles of others users, the message would disappear after 24hrs.

This feature has enhanced the user experience allowing them to update it after every 24hrs or even before that, depending on their personal choice.

In another news, Instagram is planning on rolling out “group profiles” feature letting several users share content on one shared profile.

In addition to this, candid stories feature might make rounds as well, where users can share their ongoing activities only with the users who post their candid stories, similar to Snapchat streaks feature but with an additional setting of reminder for posting candid stories.

Currently notes feature is getting popular among netizens as it give them the freedom to update their “what’s on your mind?” status.
