ISLAMABAD, Jun 1: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi Monday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing safe, comfortable and punctual travel facilities to the public, saying that passenger welfare remains the foremost priority of Pakistan Railways.
Chairing a high-level meeting to review the operational performance of Pakistan Railways, ongoing reform initiatives and future development plans, he directed officials to adopt effective strategies aimed at further strengthening the railway system and improving operational efficiency.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of railway operations and the department’s overall performance was conducted.
Senior officials briefed the minister on the progress of various operational, administrative and development projects, as well as the performance of different railway divisions across the country.
The meeting also discussed a range of proposals focused on enhancing passenger convenience, improving service quality and raising travel standards.
Hanif Abbasi instructed the relevant authorities to expedite ongoing projects and ensure the timely achievement of all set targets.
The measures to modernize railway services in line with contemporary requirements were reviewed, while participants explored various options to increase the capacity, efficiency and sustainability of Pakistan Railways.
Emphasizing the importance of continuous institutional improvement, the minister directed officials to address public complaints promptly and maintain the highest standards of service delivery.
Reiterating his vision for a modern, efficient and people-centric railway network, Hanif Abbasi said all available resources would be utilized to upgrade railway services and provide better travel facilities to passengers across the country.
