KARACHI, May 3: A high-level delegation of senior civil servants from Bangladesh was warmly received upon arrival in the city by Director General of National Institute of Public Administration Karachi Dr. Syed Saif ur Rehman, who presented them with traditional ajrak and bouquets.
The delegation has checked in at a local hotel, marking the beginning of its four-day training visit aimed at promoting institutional cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh as well as strengthening regional understanding, a communique said.
According to Dr. Rehman, the visiting officers will participate in sessions and briefings at the National Institute of Public Administration Karachi under a programme jointly organised by the National School of Public Policy and the Civil Services Academy Lahore. Titled “Strategic Leadership, Governance Systems and Policy Innovation,” the programme features high-level discussions and expert briefings on modern governance practices.
During their stay, the delegation is scheduled to visit key historical and cultural sites in Karachi, including Quaid-e-Azam House, Mohatta Palace, and Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine. Institutional visits to the Customs House Karachi, the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Planning and Development Department Sindh, Habib University, and State Bank of Pakistan are also part of the itinerary.
Dr. Rehman said the delegation would be briefed on Pakistan’s progress in governance, economy, education, and healthcare sectors.
He emphasised that the visit would contribute to strengthening modern policymaking and enhancing professional linkages between civil servants of both countries. He added that regional cooperation was essential for effective governance and sustainable development, expressing confidence that the visit would further solidify Pakistan-Bangladesh relations while providing valuable opportunities for mutual learning and capacity building.
