ISLAMABAD, MAY 10: Chinese state media has confirmed that Pakistan has launched a major military operation—code-named Operation Bunyanun Marsoos (meaning “Concrete Structure”)—targeting multiple high-value military installations across India in what Islamabad says is a response to sustained Indian provocations.
According to Global Times, citing Xinhua, official Pakistani sources confirmed early Saturday that several Indian targets were being actively engaged. The report stated that the BrahMos missile storage facility in Beas was destroyed in the opening wave of the strikes.
The operation marks a significant escalation in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and has attracted international attention due to the scale and precision of the strikes.
So far, the Indian government has not issued any formal response to the operation, despite widespread reports of damage across several states, including Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and in Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
The Chinese media highlighted the scope of the operation, suggesting it involves advanced missile and surveillance systems, with multiple targets across northern India either destroyed or heavily damaged.
The use of the Arabic phrase “Bunyan-um-Marsoos” signals not only a military objective but a symbolic message of strength and unity from Pakistan’s armed forces.
The development comes amid increasing regional instability and growing concerns from international observers who are calling for restraint on both sides.
Global Times’ coverage underscores China’s close watch on South Asian developments, especially in light of Beijing’s broader strategic interests in the region.
