Lahore, 24 Jan: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif decided in-principle to provide Nighaban Ramadan packages to millions of families in the province, while chairing a special meeting on the subject. She asked citizens to complete registration for Nighaban Ramadan package by February 15, and directed the authorities concerned to take necessary measures to ensure transparency in the provision of Ramadan Nighaban packages to the deserving families.
Madam Chief Minister said,”Nighaban Ramadan package is a right of the poor, and a duty of the government.” She added,”People should get their right with respect and dignity.” She highlighted,”People should not stand in queues to get Nighaban Ramadan packages.”
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”People should be served to seek Allah Almighty’s pleasure in Ramadan.” She added,”The administration and relevant authorities should perform their duries considering them not as a duty but an act of worship.”
Madam Chief Minister reviewed various suggestions and recommendations regarding Ramadan Nigahban Package in the meeting. She was briefed by the relevant authorities,” Registration in PSER (Punjab Socio-Economic Registry) is a pre-requisite to register for Ramadan Nigahban Package, for which people can apply from home through the online portal
pser.punjab.gov.pk.”
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was also apprised,”Registration for Ramazan Nigahban Package can be done in the Union Councils and Municipality offices. A dedicated helpline 080002345 has also been established for the purpose.”
