RAWALPINDI, AUG 10 /DNA/ – Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority Ms. Kinza Murtaza visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and addressed a meeting of traders at chamber premises. President Chamber Saqib Rafiq, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Vice President Faisal Shahzad, former presidents, executive committee members and a large number of chamber members were also present on the occasion.
President Chamber Saqib Rafique briefed DG RDA on the ongoing activities of the Chamber, he said that Ring Road is an important project of Rawalpindi, it should be completed as soon as possible and also urged that the work on economic zones around Ring Road should be started on priority basis so that heavy vehicles, bus terminals including SMEs and cottage industry Shoe manufacturers and furniture industry can be relocated from the city.
Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority Ms Kinza Murtaza assured the business community that the work on the Ring Road project is going on at a fast pace and progress has been made as per the timeline given by the Chief Minister Punjab. She informed that the Ring Road will be completed in March 2025 and will be opened for traffic. She welcomed the formation of a sub-committee on economic zones on Ring Road by the Rawalpindi Chamber and assured that RDA would include the recommendations of the committee in the planning and execution phase.
She lauded the recommendations from the committee on the project of Lai expressway, high rise building, housing societies, parking plazas, water drainage, link road of Rawat Industrial Estate, land acquisition, master plan of Rawalpindi etc.
