ECP extends Balochistan LG polls scrutiny deadline till July 29

ISLAMABAD, JUL 26 (DNA) — The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the last date for conducting scrutiny of nomination papers filed by the candidates for second phase of Balochistan LG polls till July 29.

According to a notification issued by the ECP, the deadline for scrutiny of nomination papers had been extended in eight districts of Balochistan including the union councils no 4,19,15 and 16 of Lasbela, Musakhel, Tehsil Kirdgab’s UC no 12,13,14 and 27 of Masstung, UCs no 26 of Jaffarabad,UCs no 6,7 of Duki district Zhob and UCs21 and its Ward no 2,5,6,7 and UCs no 21’s 4,5,6,7 of district Chagai and Ward no 3 of UC no 13 of district Loralai.

It may be mention here that the nominations papers for those polls had already been issued on July 6 and intending candidates had already submitted these nominations on July 20, while the lists of final candidates had been issued on July 21.

The scrutiny of the candidates would be completed on July 29 and on August 2, appeals against the decisions of returning officers could be filed. On August 6, ECP would decide the objections against the candidates while on the 12 of August final lists of candidates would be displayed and election symbols would be allotted to candidates on August 13.

Elections on those seats will be held on August 28. Results for these elections will be consolidated on August 31. =DNA
