ABBOTTABAD, Oct 30 (DNA):Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Hameedullah Khan said promoting sports among young people and providing better facilities are essential to nurturing future talent.
He was speaking at a hockey kit distribution ceremony held at the Hockey Stadium Abbottabad, jointly organized by the district administration and the Regional Sports Office.
He welcomed Zakaullah Khattak, Senior Joint Secretary, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, Islamabad, who attended the event as chief guest.
During the ceremony, Zakaullah Khattak distributed eight hockey kits among eight registered government schools in Abbottabad district.
Additional Assistant Commissioner Revenue Afshan Rehman, the Regional Sports Officer and other officials were also present.
The initiative aims to revive interest in the national sport, encourage young players and promote sporting activities in government schools.
