ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Wing here at Islamabad International Airport offloaded an Afghan origin Australian passport holder after detecting the passenger fraudulently obtained a Pakistan family visa using forged marriage documents.
An FIA official told APP on Tuesday that the passenger was intercepted during secondary profiling while attempting to travel to Australia on Emirates flight EK-613.
The official said a detailed examination of the travel documents revealed that the passenger had secured a Pakistan family visa through misrepresentation. He had claimed to be married to a Pakistani national, Maryam Anwar, and submitted a marriage certificate in support of his visa application.
However, during questioning, the passenger failed to provide any evidence of the marriage, while the submitted Marriage Registration Certificate was found to be forged and prepared solely to obtain the Pakistani family visa.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the passenger had entered Pakistan on May 29, using the fraudulently obtained family visa. He further disclosed that he had paid 300 Australian dollars to an agent based in Australia to arrange the visa through fake documentation.
The official informed that the passenger was offloaded and handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Islamabad, for further legal proceedings. Further investigation into the case is underway.
