KARACHI, NOV 06 (DNA) — Leaders of the ruling businessmen panel have started using new tactics to join the voter list in the upcoming elections of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Governor Haji Ghulam Ali got his name in the voter list of FPCCI on the quota of small traders of KPK while holding a high office in a province.
According to the sources, according to the initial voter list issued by the Secretary General of FPCCI, where there are huge flaws in the list, there is a small businessman on the quota of Peshawar Chamber of Small Traders and Industry on serial number 180 in the voter list.
Instead, the name of KPK Governor Haji Ghulam Ali is present as a member of the governing body, so now the head of a province and the representative of the federation in KPK will cast their vote in the Federation Chamber election to be held on December 30 next month instead of small businessmen. While it is also being feared that Haji Ghulam Ali will use his influence as the head of the province in the FPCCI election to be held next month.
Haji Ghulam Ali was elected president of FPCCI from KPK in 2011 on the quota of the chamber, while in 2017, he participated again for the election of president from Federal Area (ICT) but he failed in this battle.
It should be clear that Haji Ghulam Ali is the Chairman of the Executive Businessmen’s Panel in FPCCI in KPK and has also attended the meetings of the Businessmen’s Panel while serving as Governor. The business community has expressed great surprise at the nomination of Haji Ghulam Ali as a member of the governing body in FPCCI as a small businessman.
