ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a reduction in petroleum prices, providing relief to consumers across Pakistan. According to the latest notification, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs6 per litre, while high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs8.80 per litre for the next one week.
The revised prices came into effect immediately after the official announcement. Government officials stated that the decision was taken in view of fluctuations in international oil prices and to ensure maximum relief for the people of Pakistan. The authorities said the government wants to pass on the full benefit of lower global petroleum rates to the public.
The reduction in fuel prices is expected to lower transportation costs and may also help reduce the prices of essential commodities in local markets. Citizens have welcomed the move, expressing hope that further reductions will be made in the coming weeks if global oil prices continue to decline.
Economic experts believe the decrease in petroleum prices could provide temporary relief to inflation-hit consumers and businesses. The government has assured the public that it will continue monitoring international market trends and make decisions in the best interest of the nation.
