ISLAMABAD, MAY 8: /DNA/ – President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari has said that addressing mental health issues is critically important and we have to reach out to those suffering from these problems and provide them with the required information and resources. He said that taking mental health issues seriously and giving the necessary treatment to the patients is a service to the nation as well as humanity.
Addressing a seminar entitled ‘ Mental Health Care in Times of Financial Constraints ‘ held at the Chamber House, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari said that awareness sessions on such crucial issues always prove beneficial for the patients to help them come out of the stress and thereby lead a normal life.
He added that Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry always remained in forefront in addressing the issues of the business community and the general public and is committed to organize such counselling sessions in future also for the benefit of the patients.
Chief guest Professor Dr. Uzaira Rafique Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Women University underlined the need for connectivity with nature, values and families to overcome the issue by saying that our every action even little positively or negatively affects others , therefore we should be mindful of our actions.
Apprising the attendees about the Mental Wellness Centre established in Fatima Jinnah Women University, she reaffirmed University’s unwavering commitment to promoting the wellbeing of its entire community.
Dr. Uzaira Rafique also cited the services of Zafar Bakhtawari and Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari for students’ linkages with the ICCI for Startups and Entrepreneurships.
In his address Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari said that it is very important to promote the joint family system to overcome the increasing violence in the society. He dubbed the economic challenges as the cause of all the problems and said that it is the responsibility of the State to facilitate each and every individual including the business community to enable them to respectfully earn their livelihood.
Former President FPCCI and ICCI Zubair Malik commended the ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari for organizing the seminar on a much needed issue by expressing hope that the Chamber will continue to do so in future also.
Professor Dr. Johria Azhar, Psychotherapist and Psychologist Zobia Zubair, Psychologist Sobia Khateeb and Fatima Hassan in their presentations narrated the root causes of the mental health constraints and shared valuable tips to overpower the issue. The seminar was conducted by Sadaf Asim Abbasi.
