Islamabad: In a recent development, the Indian government has formally requested Pakistan to extradite Hafiz Saeed. Diplomatic sources reveal that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received the official request from the Indian government, urging the initiation of the legal process for the extradition of Hafiz Saeed. However the MOFA did not confirm any such activity.
This formal request adds a new dimension to the diplomatic relations between the two countries, as India seeks cooperation from Pakistan in bringing individuals involved in cross-border incidents to justice.
The extradition process, if initiated, will require collaboration and communication between the relevant authorities in both countries. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Pakistan will respond to this formal request and whether it will pave the way for increased cooperation in addressing issues related to cross-border security concerns.
