Tehran, JUN 25: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States and Israel of actively working to sow division among Muslim countries, in sharp contrast to Iran’s efforts to promote regional peace and unity.

During a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday, President Pezeshkian said, “We strongly believe that the United States and the Zionist regime are trying to create rifts among Muslim nations, while Iran is pursuing regional unity and peace.”

The Iranian president’s remarks were issued in a formal statement from his office, emphasizing that Washington and Tel Aviv’s strategies are aimed at preventing regional cooperation on key issues such as Palestinian rights, regional stability, and freedom from foreign interference.

The call between the two leaders came in the aftermath of a 12-day Israeli military offensive against Iran, backed by the United States, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of over 600 Iranians, including senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

President Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran would continue to assert its rightful entitlements in all relevant diplomatic engagements moving forward.

The conversation is seen as part of Iran’s broader diplomatic outreach to strengthen ties with regional powers amid escalating tensions with the US and Israel.
