Kashmiris protest against Indian atrocities outside UN in Geneva

GENEVA, SEP 21 (DNA) : Kashmiris from across Europe gathered in front of the United Nations in Geneva to protest against India.

The atmosphere was charged with chants of “Modi Murdabad” and “India Murdabad”.

The demonstrators demanded the right to self-determination and freedom for Kashmiris.

The protesters held images of martyrs and placards denouncing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The rally called for the release of detained pro-freedom leaders, with speakers including Kashmiri expatriate leaders from Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the UK, and Switzerland.

Among those who addressed the crowd were Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Chaudhry Yaseen, Chaudhry Parvez Ashraf, Altaf Wani, Amjad Yousuf, Mrs Shameem Shal, Faiz Naqshbandi, Raja Sajjad, Shagufta Ashraf, and Naila Kiyani.

The protesters urged the UN Human Rights Commission to take notice of serious human rights violations occurring in occupied Kashmir.
