Lt. Gen Amir to head Gujranwala corps while Lt. Gen Asim Munir will be new QMG

RAWALPINDI: Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed has been appointed Corps Commander Peshawar. He was working as Director General ISI. Lt GEN Muhammad Amir has been appointed at Corps Commander Gujranwala.
Lt Gen Asim Munir has been appointed as Quarter Master General. The ISPR press release says that these officers will assume charge of the assignment with immediate effect.
Lt General Faiz Hameed served in ISI for over three years. Since he may also be a candidate for the next Chief of Army Staff slot therefore it was mandatory for him to lead a corps.
