ISLAMABAD: JAN 4 (DNA):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a late-night surprise visit to the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange and Serena Chowk Interchange projects. He reviewed the progress of construction work on both mega-projects. The Minister for Interior inspected the flyover at F-8 Exchange Chowk and the underpasses at Serena Chowk Interchange.
He also examined the newly opened underpass at F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange, which was completed in a record 42 days and directed to make beautiful landscaping around the underpass. He said that for the first time in Pakistan’s history, an underpass has been completed in record 42 days.
He praised the workforce and directed that work on both projects should continue in three shifts. He also instructed to deploy additional workforce during the night shift and speed up the construction work.
Mohsin Naqvi said that both projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He highlighted that the completion of projects will provide relief to citizens from traffic congestion. He also directed to develop a plan for entry into the Serena Hotel, so that guests and travelers can be saved from unnecessary inconvenience.
He further directed that a majestic national flag should also be installed within the boundaries of Serena Chowk Interchange. He announced that the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange would be fully inaugurated in February. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and contractors briefed the Interior Minister on the progress of both projects. During the briefing, the contractor said that construction work is underway around the clock on all parts of the project, and both projects will be completed in record time.
