Anjum Nisar, Faheem Saigol award membership certificates to new PIAF members

LAHORE, JAN 30 (DNA):The Executive Committee meeting of the Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) was held under the chairmanship of PIAF Chairman Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol. PIAF Patron-in-Chief Mian Anjum Nisar attended the meeting as a special guest.

Addressing the PIAF Executive Committee members, Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol stated that after the historic victory in the recent Lahore Chamber elections, they would continue to serve the business community without discrimination and utilize their capabilities effectively. He assured that stakeholders’ suggestions would be conveyed to the relevant authorities, and they would fulfill the mandate given by the business community while working to unite them.

Appealing to the government, Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol emphasized that if the production cost and electricity tariffs were not reduced, the capital currently in banks would flow out of the country. To prevent this, he urged the government to lower electricity tariffs, improve the ease of doing business, bring interest rates into the single-digit range, rationalize taxes, and address the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. These measures, he said, would boost foreign exchange reserves and alleviate the problems of the business community.

He also advised members to renew their company registrations on time so they could exercise their right to vote in elections.

PIAF Patron-in-Chief Mian Anjum Nisar expressed deep concern over the deteriorating economic situation of the country. He stressed that experts from various sectors should come together to discuss the fundamental challenges facing the nation and formulate practical recommendations and strategies for the budget. He urged financial policymakers to develop policies that promote industrial growth and economic prosperity by increasing local production and exports.

He further stated that affordable natural energy should be a priority, and policies should focus on boosting exports rather than imports to ensure that the economy does not become aid-dependent. Strengthening trade and industrial activities in Pakistan and improving the energy sector are crucial for increasing the national economic growth rate.

On this occasion, former President of the Lahore Chamber and former PIAF Chairman Muhammad Ali Mian, Senior Vice Chairman PIAF Nasrullah Mughal, Vice Chairman PIAF Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, and others also addressed the gathering.

A large number of Executive Committee members attended the meeting and discussed issues related to their respective sectors. At the end of the event, new Executive Committee members of PIAF, including Najmuddin Mazari, Firdous Nisar, Rana Muhammad Nisar, Mian Ashfaq Ahmed, Nabeel Tariq, Hanan Masood, Syed Hafiz Ahmed Ali Shah, Hamidullah Khan, Chaudhry Rehan, Waqas Mughal, Tahir Hafeez, Muhammad Asif Butt, Mian Ahmad Nawaz, Irfan Soni, Yasir Jahangir, Aamir Saeed Mian, Muhammad Shoaib, and others, were awarded PIAF membership certificates.
