ISLAMABAD, MAY 18 (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday directed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to pass a former-friendly “Sugar Factories Act” in the province.
Special Advisor to PM Shehbaz Gill in a tweet on Tuesday said sugar growers the first time this year received payments timely by issuing Sugar Factories Ordinance. He was of the view that some amendments were done in the act at the time of the pass that was not in favour of the sugar growers and farmers.
And, such kind of amendments could turn back to the farmers and growers in the 2018 era. Gill confirmed that the PM had directed Usman Bazdar to include all farmer friendly amendments in the Act and pass it in the provincial assembly of Punjab as Imran Khan wanted to make the protection of farmers necessary in any case. = DNA
