According to details shared by NCCIA, the joint initiative aimed to promote safe internet use and encourage citizens to take necessary precautions against growing cyber threats.
During the awareness activity, citizens were informed about online financial scams, fake social media accounts, identity theft, cyber harassment and other methods used by criminals to deceive internet users.
Participants were advised not to share their passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), banking details, or personal information with anyone, as such information could be misused for financial fraud and other illegal activities.

The awareness campaign particularly stressed the importance of reporting cybercrime without delay. Citizens were advised to preserve messages, screenshots, transaction records and other relevant evidence in case of online fraud, blackmailing or harassment.
