ISLAMABAD, MAR 26 /DNA/ – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson demanded that the Supreme Court (SC) should ensure provision of swift and immediate justice to the civilians whose cases were pending before the military courts.
PTI Spokesperson said that a human tragedy like situation was created in the country due to the establishment of military courts and the trials of civilians in these controversial courts.
He stated that the constitution guaranteed a right of a fair trial to every citizen, thus the state did not authorize to deprive any citizen of this constitutional and fundamental right.
PTI Spokesperson reiterated that the causes of the cases pending before the military courts were purely political and it was the responsibility of the top court to guard the basic constitutional rights of civilians.
He urged that keeping in mind the state’s unusual tradition of oppression and revenge, the apex court should ensure provision of speedy and real justice to the people detained in the military courts.
PTI Spokesperson made it clear that they stood with the innocent citizens who were subjected to controversial, unfair and non-transparent trials like military courts in their quest to achieve the true justice.
