Punjab CM’s Ramadan Nigehban package Verification beneficiaries begins : Deputy Commissioner

ATTOCK, MAR 3: Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza has said that On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the verification process has been started for the delivery of food packages to the deserving families in Attock district while starting the steps to deliver the “Nighban Ramadan Package” to the beneficiaries. The district administration had devised a strategy for distribution of the Ramazan package ration bags to the deserving people. Daily distribution report of food bags will be updated on the app developed by Punjab Information Technology Board. The district administration, food department and food authority will jointly carry out this noble cause. The QR code on all ration bags will be scanned from the identity card and given to the concerned person. The verification of deserving people has been completed through Benazir Income Support Programme and Nadra data.

He said that Ramadan ration package would contain 10 kg flour with two kg each, rice, sugar, ghee and gram flour, he said adding, the Punjab government had taken a significant step towards providing maximum relief to the public amidst rising inflation. For this purpose, the Punjab government had devised a Negahban Rashn program, a Ramazan relief package. The control rooms had also been set up in Assistant Commissioner Offices to monitor the process of distribution of Negahban Rashan Package, he said and checked the quality and quantity of the essential items included in the ration bags. He directed the concerned authorities to make comprehensive arrangements for timely supply of food items in all areas. He said that all the records will be compiled in the Assistant Commissioner’s office. The data of families registered under Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is being verified by the field staff of Land Revenue as well as local government employees, he added.

Deputy Commissioner charied a meeting held here in DC Office, relevant officers attended the meeting. he reviewed all the arrangements for the distribution of the package. In the next two days, the final list would be prepared, verifying the data of the beneficiaries of the entire District, the Deputy Commissioner informed. He directed the authorities to ensure the quality of the essential items for the ration package which would be given to the deserving families. He also ordered the ACs to monitor the packaging of the ration and ensure that there should be no compromise in the specified quantity and quality of items in all packages. Transparency should be ensured during the verification of the lists. stated that all record will be compiled in the Assistant Commissioner’s office while third party audit of the entire scheme will also be conducted. he said.

The Deputy Commissioner ordered that the people in the list who were no longer eligible for this package and a separate list of non-verified should be prepared. All processes should be monitored by establishing a control room in the DC Office. he informed and directed that regarding the distribution of ration bags, the concerned departments should complete all their arrangements on priority basis. All-out efforts should be made for timely and efficient distribution of the ration bags. He further directed that arrangements should be made to deliver the ration bags to the homes of the deserving families.
