Punjab launches crackdown against adulterated food items

ATTOCK (APRIL-26) – Food Safety Teams of Punjab Food Authority Attock has discarded spurious , adulterated and injuries food items including 74 liters cold drinks, 57 liters milk, 38 liter rancid oil, 33 liter juices along with 9 kilograms of other food stuff besides launching move for public awareness on hygienic environment. A spokesman of Punjab Food Authority while talking to media  here on Wednesday said. Food Safety Teams ofPunjab Food Authority Attock led by Director General Raja Jahagir Anwar  during the ongoing crackdown has also imposed fine of Rs.207000 on 10 different food business operators and served notices to 30 food business owners for making corrective measures under Punjab Food Authority Act 2011, .On the special instructions of DG Punjab Food Authority Raja Jahangir Anwar and Deputy Director Mehtab Ahmed Khan, the Food Safety Teams of Attock district took several actions against elements hostile to health during the Eid days and ensured the supply of quality food to the people.
