ISLAMABAD, JUN 5: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning of heavy rains and landslides in Upper Punjab till June 6.

The authority has cautioned residents of Murree and Galyat to be prepared for possible landslides, while the chances of thunder and lightning are high.

The district administration has been put on high alert, with DGPDMA Irfan Ali Kathia directing officials to remain vigilant 24/7. The PDMA has warned citizens to avoid open skies during thunderstorms and to stay informed about weather updates.

The authority’s warning comes as heavy rains are expected to lash Upper Punjab, posing a risk to life and property. The PDMA has assured that it is prepared to respond to any emergency situation and has directed the district administration to take necessary precautions.”

The authority has urged citizens to stay safe and avoid open spaces during bad weather conditions.

On the other hand, tragedy struck in Khushab where two brothers were killed by lightning, prompting the DG PDMA to offer condolences and financial assistance to the bereaved family.
