Ruling group all set to sweep fourth time as FPCCI holds polls on 30th

ISLAMABAD: /DNA/ – As the country’s apex trade body is going to hold its annual elections on 30th of Dec 2023, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry’s ruling group of Businessmen Panel (BMP) is going to make the history of winning FPCCI’s polls 2024 for the fourth consecutive time and defeat its rival group of UBG, maintaining continuity of success and services of the business community. The Businessmen Panel (BMP) is the true representative of the business community of the whole country and would participate in the next elections to the best of its ability, ensuring the success of the group, as many strong groups of several chambers have joined the BMP.

These views were expressed by the PIAF Chairman Faheemur Rehman Saigol, expressing the hope that the BMP would win apex trade body’s elections for the fourth consecutive time with a big margin on the basis of its excellent performance amidst worst economic crisis in the country.

Addressing a meeting, held here on Wednesday in connection with the FPCCI’s election campaign, Faheemur Rehman Saigol observed that a large number of chambers of various cities, trade groups and industrial associations from across the country have so far announced their support for the Businessmen Panel (BMP) for the upcoming FPCCI elections 2024.

Besides a large number of trade and industrial associations the election meeting was attended by the BMP Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar, FPCCI President from ruling group Irfan Iqbal Sheikh and FPCCI’s presidential candidate of the BMP Muhammad Ali Sheikh also attended the meeting.

Faheem Saigol observed that the leadership has visited various cities of all provinces across the country and winning their full support for all candidates of the Businessmen Panel.

The PIAF Chairman stated that work of the last four years are in front of everyone, will meet the trust of the business community as before. During the last four years, not only all the departments of the federal government recognized FPCCI, but the Prime Minister of Pakistan many times the President met with FPCCI and discussed issues related to industry and commerce and advocated for the business community.

He said that the Businessmen Panel team regularly pursued the government including the Prime Minister and got many critical issues resolved, which include expediting processing of tax refunds, he claimed.

He expressed his profound confidence that the environment in the business community across Pakistan is such that his group would clean sweep the upcoming elections; as they have earned the reputation of the true representatives of trade, industry and services across all sectors.

Faheem Saigol said that Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been key players in the political, cultural and social life of the country and now the Islamabad Chapter would play an active role within the BMP.

He said that during the past tenure, the members of the rival group had ruined the FPCCI, while the BMP has not only improved its finances but also contributed millions to the exchequer of the federation during the last four years.

BMP Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar said that BMP Presidential Candidate Muhammad Ali Sheikh by holding various important positions on different business forums, including as ex-senior vice president of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), fought and got settled many important issues confronting trade and industry in the country. Through further policy and structural reforms, he would make FPCCI as the real national business platform with a strong voice and influence in the formulation of economic policies of the country, he added.

FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that the Pakistan’s business community has posed complete confidence in BMP and our all candidates will win upcoming elections of FPCCI. The entire BMP panel will win in the next FPCCI and it will be a proof that the business community of Pakistan trusts BMP and wants to vote in its favor to ensure continuity of services being provided by our group.

Faheemur Rehman Saigol, highlighting the BMP’s performance in the year 2023, said the chairman Mian Anjum Nisar along with his team of officer bearers and FPCCI President had been playing their best possible role from the platform of this apex trade body of the country for the resolution of the issues facing trade and industry, and for getting maximum incentives and facilities for them to boost industrial growth and exports.
