Safe City Islamabad re-organized; says IGP

ISLAMABAD, JUL 22 (DNA) — Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has issued standing orders about re-organizing of Safe city, Islamabad, a police public relations officer said.

He said that the step was taken to put the vision of Prime Minister Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif into practice and on the special directions of Federal Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan adding that all the Information Technology based systems are being shifted to Safe city.

He further said that 1500 cameras are being added in Safe City with the coordination of Capital Development Authority (CDA) in phase-I adding that the capacity of the safe city will be enhanced. Nomenclature of DG Safe City is changed into DIG Safe City while Director Operations Safe City into SSP Safe City, he maintained.

He further said that all the systems of Islamabad Capital Police will be centralized at Safe City adding that police reporting, response of Eagle squad, Electronic media and other systems will be monitored here. Eagle squad will not be allowed to erect any picket anywhere himself.

He further stated that, to ensure the privacy and protection of official data, all the technical support to the Investigation Wing will be provided from Safe City adding that Electronic and Social media monitoring has already been shifted there.

IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan in his statement said that by centralizing all the systems of Islamabad Capital Police, the monitoring and response time will be better and it will also help to provide immediate facilities to the public. =DNA
