KARACHI/HYDERABAD, MAY 11: JazzCash, a major fintech company in Pakistan, has distributed Rs 2 billion to flood-affected families in Sindh province in collaboration with Sindh Government and World Bank-supported Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project (SFERP).   

A total of Rs 15 billion will be distributed to around one million affected families.

Spokesman of  Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project ( SFERP) in a press release said that  Jazz Cash has opened 80,000 mobile wallet accounts for distribution of funds in which 45 percent were female beneficiaries while  55 percent male beneficiaries, thereby ensuring equal access to financial assistance, especially in urban and remote areas. 

He saud that this partnership is a significant step towards JazzCash’s commitment to leverage technology for social good and financial inclusion.

He said that JazzCash has so far distributed relief money in various districts including Ghotki, Jacobabad, Qambar Shaddadkot, Khairpur, Larkana, Nowshehro Feroze, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad and Shikarpur.

He said that JazzCash not only provides timely financial support to the flood affected sections but also empowers them through the use of technology to promote inclusion.  The use of mobile wallets ensures the receipt of funds and access to the financial assistance that they need, especially those living in remote areas.

He said that With a long-standing commitment to providing relief funds to families affected by natural disasters, JazzCash will continue to help those in need and by partnering with SFERP and providing financial assistance. JazzCash will not only repair families’ homes and helping to rebuild it but also promoting the vision of a more digital and inclusive Pakistan.

JazzCash will continue to provide financial assistance to those in need during difficult times, with existing partnerships with natural calamity relief activities and SFERP.

While, A main program was held at Kotri town and JazzCash was distributed among the 200 flood hit families of Karam u ddin and Mohammad Siddiq Shoro villages of Jamdhoro district as  17500 rupees per family  with Sindh province in collaboration with Sindh Government and World Bank-supported Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project (SFERP). 

The spokesman of  SFERP in a press release  said that transport facilities was provided to the families and brought at Kotri town and after distributing Jazzcash amount were dropped at their locations.
