Eid Al Fitr

As the holy month of Ramadan nears its end, the official prayer timings for Eid Al Fitr in the UAE will be announced on Saturday, March 29, by the moon sighting committee. Eid prayers are traditionally held 15 to 20 minutes after sunrise.

Mohammed Musabeh Ali Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector and General Coordinator of Ramadan Initiatives in Dubai, confirmed that the official timings will be shared with both the media and the public once announced.

While the official schedule is yet to be confirmed, Dubai-based scholar Sheikh Ayaz Housee, Imam at NGS and Khateeb at Al Manar Centre, has estimated that Eid prayers in Dubai will begin at 6:20 AM. Based on similar calculations, Sharjah and Ajman are expected to hold prayers at 6:19 AM, while in Abu Dhabi, the prayers are likely to commence at 6:22 AM. However, these timings remain tentative until the authorities release the final schedule.

Over 680 Prayer Areas Prepared in Dubai

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has announced that more than 680 mosques and prayer halls across Dubai are ready to host Eid prayers. This includes 14 large prayer areas in key locations and 668 smaller mosques within residential neighborhoods to accommodate worshippers and ease overcrowding.

Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director-General of IACAD, stated that special teams have implemented a comprehensive plan in coordination with government agencies and volunteers. “This plan will help manage crowd movement, ensure smooth entry and exit, and provide assistance to the elderly and people of determination,” he said.

With preparations in full swing, worshippers across the UAE are eagerly awaiting the final announcement to mark the joyous occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
