ZIARAT, AUG 10: Unknown armed men abducted Ziarat Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Afzal Baqi, along with his son from the tourist area in Ziarat district, Balochistan.
According to Ziarat Deputy Commissioner Ziarat Zakaullah Durrani, the incident occurred while Afzal Baqi was on a recreational trip with his family to the scenic site.
The armed men released Baqi’s family members unharmed and later freed his gunman and driver at a short distance from the abduction site.
However, the kidnappers set fire to the official vehicle of the assistant commissioner.
Following the incident, security forces and Levies personnel launched a search operation in the surrounding area.
The deputy commissioner, the investigation is under way from multiple angles to recover Afzal Baqi and his son.
