ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee expressed alarm that PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan could be suffered from ‘slow-poisoning, insisting that arrangements should be made to provide him home-made food and water sans any further delay.
In its crucial meeting, PTI core committee strongly condemned the inordinate delay to allow him to receive food and water from home even in the face of possibility that he could be suffered from slow poisoning in food.
PTI party leaders strongly denounced the unjustifiable delay in hearing of bail application of PTI Chairman.
They expressed deep concern over keeping him in Attock jail in sheer violation of rules and the unnecessary delay in the decision on the plea to transfer him to Adiala jail.
The participants stated that after the darkest decision of the most controversial and biased judge, the prejudice and partiality of the Chief Justice of the IHC was becoming a key contributor to the murder of justice.
PTI core Committee lamented that the graves of the constitution, fundamental rights, democracy and justice were being dug in the country with the help of such special judges.
The participants suggested the Supreme Court to organize special programs to bring about the much-needed reforms in the lower courts in order to improve its functionality and performance instead of leaving the future of the nation and justice at the mercy of the remains of the Justice Munir.
They expressed satisfaction over the ongoing preparations regarding celebration of Independence Day on the special instructions of PTI Chairman.
In the meeting, they strongly condemned the worst crackdown against PTI workers across the country before the Independence Day, besides denouncing the unabated raids and vandalism of the residences of various PTI office-bearers and leaders across the country.
The participants made it clear that they would not surrender to the coercive and revengeful acts and agreed to celebrate the independence in befitting manner on the special instructions of PTI Chairman.
The PTI Core Committee paid tribute to the party workers and officials who bravely faced the brutalities and atrocities of the criminal government, adding that their sacrifices in the struggle to achieve the real independence would be written in golden words.
In the meeting, the participants strongly condemned PEMRA illegal blackout of PTI leaders, adding that the ban on the publication of the statements and speeches of Hamad Azhar, Murad Saeed, Ali Nawaz Awan and Farrukh Habib was unconstitutional, illegal and the worst example of misuse of powers and state institutions.
The party leaders contemplated various options including moving the court against the PEMRA decision.
They went on to say that PTI Chairman and several central party leadership had already been under illegal and strict censorship.
PTI Core Committee stated that the policy of political use of state institutions always caused irreparable damage to the effectiveness of the state and its institutions.
They advised that Chairman PEMRA should keep the constitution supreme instead of supporting the efforts to curb freedom of expression in the country by issuing unlawful orders.
