ISLAMABAD, JUN 27 (DNA): Under the distance learning system of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), dozens of girls from the underprivileged and remote district of Torghar have successfully completed their matriculation.
A prestigious ceremony was held to celebrate this significant achievement, organized in collaboration with the Alternative Learning Pathways (ALP), the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and UNICEF.
The Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, was the chief guest at the event.
While addressing the audience, he emphasized AIOU’s commitment to promoting female education, especially in the most marginalized areas of the country. “Providing quality education to girls in remote and underserved regions is our mission, and we are determined to continue this journey with dedication,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Tauqeer Ahmad Khan, Director General Regional Services, Deputy Commissioner Torghar, representatives from UNICEF, ALP, and JICA, teachers, parents, and the successful students. Certificates were distributed, and the dedication and efforts of the students were highly appreciated.
