ICCI President Pledges Full Support to IWCCI for Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship

ISLAMABAD, SEP 2 (DNA):  President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Sardar Tahir Mehmood attended the Annual General Meeting of Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IWCCI) as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Tahir Mehmood reaffirmed ICCI’s commitment to fully support IWCCI in carrying forward its core agenda of women empowerment through the promotion of entrepreneurship, startups, and business initiatives. He said ICCI’s doors are open for IWCCI activities aimed at advancing the cause of women-led enterprises.

He added that ICCI leadership is dedicated to playing the role of a bridge between the government and private sectors for the ease of doing business and the economic prosperity of the country. He informed that ICCI has planned several significant events for the promotion of women empowerment and academia-industry collaboration with the vision to turn young graduates into job providers instead of job seekers.

Welcoming the ICCI President, Ms. Samina Fazil, President IWCCI, congratulated him on assuming the leadership of ICCI and expressed confidence that under his tenure, ICCI and IWCCI would work hand in hand to strengthen the role of women in the economic mainstream.

She also apprised that IWCCI is organizing a two-day Women Entrepreneurs Expo on November 8-9, 2025 at Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad, which will showcase innovative products and services by women entrepreneurs from across the country.

Both leaders emphasized that closer collaboration between ICCI and IWCCI would create new opportunities for women entrepreneurs and startups, paving the way for inclusive economic growth.

Earlier, the ICCI President distributed certificates among prominent performers of IWCCI Executive Members. Rizwana Asif, former President IWCCI, Shumaila Naz, Senior Vice President, Rabia Farhan, Vice President, and Naima Ansari, Spokesperson, also shared their views and expressed confidence that this collaboration would prove a milestone for both chambers.
