LAHORE: The University of the Punjab has postponed all examinations scheduled for October 13, according to a statement issued by the university spokesperson on Monday.
The decision comes amid the ongoing law and order situation in the provincial capital and other cities of the province.
The spokesperson clarified that while exams scheduled for October 13 have been rescheduled, the LLB exams will proceed as per schedule from October 14 onward. Students are advised to stay in touch with university announcements for new dates of the postponed papers.
Regular classes suspended, online learning announced
The spokesperson confirmed that Punjab University will remain closed for regular on-campus classes on October 14. However, to avoid academic disruption, all classes will be conducted online.

“Classes will be held online at Punjab University on October 14,” the spokesperson reiterated, ensuring continuity of learning for students across departments. The university has also instructed faculty to make necessary arrangements to facilitate virtual sessions smoothly.
UET also moves to online classes
In a similar move, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore announced that it will hold online classes on October 14.

A notification issued by UET confirmed the decision, emphasizing that it was made to ensure academic activities continue without interruption. Students have been advised to check official university portals and communication channels for details regarding online class schedules and links.
Students advised to stay updated
Both universities have urged students to remain alert to official updates and revised schedules. Punjab University’s examination branch is expected to issue a new timetable soon for the postponed October 13 exams.
Officials from both institutions reiterated their commitment to maintaining academic regularity while prioritizing student convenience and safety.
