The agreement was signed on Thursday during a visit by a high-level Kuwaiti delegation led by Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah. He met Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad, where both sides discussed bilateral defence relations, security cooperation and ways to deepen military ties.

Under the new agreement, Pakistan’s armed forces will provide assistance to Kuwait in training, capacity building, border management and other mutually agreed areas of defence cooperation.

The new protocol builds on the existing Defence Cooperation Agreement-2023. The two countries said the agreement reflected their longstanding ties, mutual trust and shared security interests.

The Kuwaiti delegation also met Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the meeting focused on regional security and bilateral defence cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to stronger institutional ties and an expanded defence partnership aimed at supporting regional peace and stability.
