KARACHI, :Four-member Pakistan Wheelchair Tennis Team left for Antalya Turkey to take part in BNP Paribas ITF Wheelchair Tennis Qualifier Cup from Jinnah International Airport on Wednesday.
Team comprised of Fida Hussain, Muhammad Irfan and Asif Abbasi, resident of England (who will join Pakistan team at Antalya), according to Vice President Pakistan Tennis Federation Khalid Rehmani.
Muhammad Khalid Rehmani is accompanying the team as Captain.
First time ever Pakistan is taking part in any international wheelchair team event.
Pakistan Tennis Federation with the support of ITF has arranged this historic visit.
Salim Saifullah Khan, President Pakistan Tennis Federation took initiative 3 years back and imported tennis wheelchair and handed over to STA to initiate this important version of tennis in country.
The first Operational center is in Karachi. He added that 35 plus countries from all continents are taking part in this six days event.
Recently PTF inaugurated 2nd Center in Islamabad and third would be in Lahore.
