ISLAMABAD, AUG 08 (DNA) — The federal government on Monday constituted a joint team of intelligence bureau (IB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials to investigate the malicious social media campaign against Pakistan Army in the wake of army helicopter’s crash a few days ago in which six army officers, including Core Commander Lt General Sarfaraz Ali, had been killed.
According to the ISPR, the helicopter, which was participating in relief and rescue activities in flood-hit Balochistan, crashed in Lasbela district of the province due to bad weather. But following the incident, such messages were shared on social media which created resentment in the army officers as well as their family members.
Therefore, the constitution of a joint investigation team (JIT) was deemed necessary to pinpoint the people behind this vilification campaign against the Pakistan Army and its officers. =DNA
