Bilawal thanks Saudi Arabia and Iran for help

ISLAMABAD, SEP 02 (DNA) — Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Friday held telephonic conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran and informed them about the latest situation of the disaster caused by floods and rains in Pakistan.

Bilawal Bhutto thanked the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan and Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian for expressing solidarity with the dire flood situation and also appreciated the brethren countries’ assurance of taking all possible measures to help Pakistan’s flood victims.

During the calls, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari shared that Pakistan had been battling one of the most severe cycles of torrential monsoon weather, which had resulted in the loss of lives, livelihood, and extensive damage to infrastructure. As a result, the delivery of assistance and relocation of affectees was severely limited.

Highlighting the government’s efforts, the Foreign Minister informed them that in addition to financial support, food packs, shelter items including tents, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) supplies were also being provided.

Both Saudi Arabia and Iran’s Foreign Ministers also conveyed condolences on the loss of lives and material damage due to the floods and assured their continued assistance in the provision of relief.

Bilawal appreciated their provision of aid in the extraordinary flood situation and thanked them for showing solidarity and continuous assistance to the people affected by the floods. =DNA
