RAWALPINDI: The involvement of the Afghan Taliban regime in terrorist activities inside Pakistan, allegedly backed and sponsored by India, continues to result in the loss of precious lives and poses a persistent threat to peace and stability in the region.
Based on credible intelligence, Pakistan’s intelligence agencies identified multiple hideouts of Indian-sponsored Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan terrorists in the general area of Shaban, District Quetta, posing a serious threat to the local population. Consequently, Pakistan Security Forces launched a swift and targeted operation against the terrorists in Ziarat and surrounding areas on 21 September 2026.
During Operation Shaban, Security Forces effectively engaged the terrorists and successfully cleared multiple hideouts. Following intense exchanges of fire, 33 Indian-sponsored terrorists were eliminated. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered during the operation.
Over the past 72 hours, the operation was further intensified, resulting in the elimination of an additional 23 terrorists. Security Forces have cleared a vast area and relieved local communities of the threat posed by Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan elements. Clearance operations remain underway and will continue until the complete neutralization of all terrorist threats in the area.
On 25 September 2026, in a separate intelligence-based operation in District Nushki, Security Forces successfully engaged a terrorist hideout, killing 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists. In another operation in Mand, Security Forces neutralized six Fitna Al-Hindustan terrorists and recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
As Operation Shaban continues, more than 71 terrorists have been killed across Shaban and other areas of Balochistan during the last 96 hours, dealing a significant blow to Indian-backed terrorist proxies operating from Afghan soil.
The national counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue with unwavering resolve. Pakistan’s Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain fully committed to eliminating all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism and ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability throughout the country.
