ISLAMABAD: Living up to its traditions and as part of its corporate social responsibility the Monal Group has installed 200 bird nesting and feeding poles in various Islamabad Parks in collaboration with the CDA. By installing bird nesting and feeding poles in the park, the purpose is to provide valuable resources for birds, offer educational opportunities for visitors, and contribute to the overall biodiversity and enjoyment of the parks environment.
A wild bird family has given birth to a healthy brood of birds! The Monal management hopes that this family will thrive as they are surrounded by an abundance of Grain and Fresh Water which is Replenished Twice a Day by our dedicated staff and we reinforce our pledge to continue to undertake similar initiatives for the betterment of our beautiful city.
The Monal group earnestly believes that the bird nesting and feeding poles should be part of a broader conservation and wildlife management effort. It’s essential to create a habitat-friendly environment by preserving native vegetation, minimizing pesticide use, and ensuring the park is a safe space for birds to thrive.
In order to feed birds properly there is need to include a variety of bird feeders on the poles to attract a diverse range of bird species besides offering different types of bird food, such as seeds, suet, nectar, or fruit, to accommodate the dietary preferences of various birds. The Monal group has ensured that the feeders are easily accessible and can be refilled regularly.
Moreover a regular inspection and maintenance of the bird poles is also ensured besides the maintenance of the nesting boxes, and feeders. The feeders are cleaned on a regular basis to prevent the spread of diseases, and damaged or worn-out components are immediately replaced. The Monal group initiative has widely been hailed by social and political circles and termed it a worth-emulating step.
