Urges PMD, establishment to think of country instead of vested interests

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan made it clear that all the ongoing brutal tactics to break PTI were proving counterproductive because the party’s popularity was increasing remarkably with each passing, which was clearly indicating that the PTI would conveniently win the general elections.
Addressing the nation on Friday, PTI Chairman said that the government was using all fascist tactics to oppress and intimidate the people, but the party was growing and whenever elections were held, no power could stop PTI from winning the polls because it became an undefeatable political force of the country.
Therefore, Imran Khan said that he wanted to say to those who were sitting in power PDM and the establishment that it was high time to think about the country instead of personal interest.
He said that whenever they thought of the country apart from their vested interest and only then they would all sit down and decide what the best for Pakistan that’s free, fair and transparent elections.
Talking about his cricketing career, Imran Khan said that when he used to play cricket, every country in the world of cricket used to appoint its own umpires and there was chaos in cricket grounds because many times umpires would help their team.
“I am proud that I was the captain who took a neutral umpire in the world of cricket, as Pakistan was the country that brought neutral referees for the first time in the history of cricket in 1986, due to which chaos has ended in cricket matches because people now think the decisions are fair,” he added.
Similarly, PTI Chairman stated that the main purpose behind forming of the PTI was that after looking at the system of the western world, he came to the conclusion that Pakistan could not become a great welfare state as per the dream of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal until justice system was established.
Imran Khan said that he had been struggling for the last 27 years to establish a just system in the country, adding that in the PTI’s three and a half years of government, he tried his best to bring the powerful under the law, but an army chief had veto power who considered corruption was not bad.
PTI Chairman stated that today he wanted to put his case before the nation, adding that since May 12, they filed a no-confidence motion against Judge Humayun Dilawar because he framed charges against him without hearing him afterwards; they conceived that they would not get justice from here.
“We requested the Islamabad High Court to transfer the case to another judge’s court, but unfortunately the Chief Justice of the IHC even justified his arrest from the court premises,” he added.
Imran Khan went on to say that Supreme Court said that the foreign funding cases of all parties should be heard together, which was not heard by the Chief Justice of IHC, adding that Azam Swati wrote a regular letter that he would not get justice from him.
Earlier, he said that the three-member bench declared the Tyrian case inadmissible, but the Chief Justice IHC sat on that case, adding that it was their constitutional and legal rights to express no confidence in these two judges because it was next to impossible to get justice from them.
Imran Khan recalled that the SC said that all our petitions should be heard together in the IHC, but today the petitions were not heard together and even rejected their transfer petition.
He state that presenting witnesses was his right under Article 10 of the Constitution, but he was denied that right as judge Dilawar announced that he would hear the final arguments today (Saturday).
Imran Khan doubted as how they could give final arguments when their witnesses were not appeared, thus how it could be called a fair trial?
PTI Chairman said that whatever decision was made and if he was disqualified, but would he be satisfied and would the nation accept this decision? “Everyone knows that the only purpose of around 200 cases is to somehow remove Imran Khan from the way and destroy the PTI,” he added.
Imran Khan reiterated that whenever the May 9 incident was investigated, the truth would come to the surface that all the crackdowns on PTI across the country were a pre-planned move.
However, he stated that those who were behind all these happenings, didn’t aware of the fact that the party ended when its vote bank ends, as PTI vote bank was increasing enormously.
Imran Khan said that they wanted to eliminate the opinion of 70 to 80 percent people in order to bring another system, but they did not know on which direction they were taking the country.
“I am that Pakistani who lives and dies in Pakistan, whose everything is in the country,” he added. Imran Khan said that they inflicted colossal damage to the country in a bid to expel a party and a leader from political field; however, he added that they did not know anything about the history of the world.
“I especially want to tell my young people that after World War II in 1945, half of Europe went to democracy and half to dictatorship, 50 years later in front of the whole world the result was that the countries that were free became prosperous. And the countries which did not have freedom are still lagging behind,” he added.
Imran Khan said that people had the right to elect their representatives through their vote, adding that those who were in power thought that the more they oppress, people would be scared and they would become slaves of fear.
PTI Chairman recalled that he repeatedly cited the example of Yazid as what he did to the people of Kufa by appointing his governor, due to his cruelty, those people were reduced to the level of animals and the same tactics were applied with Pakistan now.
Imran Khan said that a lawyer informed him on Friday that PTI senior imprisoned people were in bad condition. He revealed that several times Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a 75 years old, fell sick and 70-year-old Mehmood-ul-Rashid had a serious heart problem.
Similarly, he stated that Ejaz Chaudhry lost 10 kg weight, who was a diabetic patient and Aliya Hamza remained very ill, adding that Omar Cheema had also become weak. Imran Khan asked that what was the message being given, adding that did they were spreading fear to control people.
PTI Chairman said that police raided the house of PTI Pakhtunkhwa President Ali Amin for 6 hours without any search warrant, vandalized his house and abused his 80-year-old father, besides stealing cars and other valuables from his house.
“We are destroying our police today to spread fear and control people. When we get the police to do illegal work, then the police themselves start doing the same work. Our police system is already very bad,” he added.
Imran Khan recalled that they worked hard for the improvement of the KP police, as late IG Durrani made the police such that the people and the police became one, but today people started hatred from police because they were doing wrong work to target PTI everywhere in the country.
PTI Chairman stated that it had nothing to do with May 9, as Iftikhar Durrani was a man of the media, adding that May 9 was a pretext and a pre-planned scheme to crush the party.
Imran Khan reiterated that they were oppressing the people, but the party was growing, so they would never hold an election because whenever polls were held, the PTI would trounce the political opponents because PTI became undefeatable political force.
