Students from University of Peshawar visit Safe City Project Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, July 18 (DNA): A delegation of 60 students from Philosophy
Department of University of Peshawar visited the Safe City Project
Islamabad and were briefed about the its efficient functioning as well
as contribution in ensuring effective security in the city.

The delegation led by Dr. Samina was briefed by Director (Operations)
Safe City Syed Muhammad Bilal. The students were informed that Safe City
Project under the supervision of Director General Muhammad Saleem is
watching over Operations and Monitoring Center, Emergency Control
Centre, Dispatch Control Centre, Corona Monitoring Desk, E-Challan and
Rescue 15 Helpline.

Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, he said
that new techniques are being introduced in policing affairs. He said
that E-Challan system has been introduced and fine tickets are
dispatched at the houses of those involved in violation of traffic
rules.

He said that helpline of Islamabad Police (Rescue 15) receives thousands
of calls on daily basis and complaints of citizens are addressed through
prompt action. Moreover, police officials investigating into various
cases visit the safe city project and its cameras are greatly helpful
for prevention of crime and ensure arrest of criminals wanted in various
cases.

Dr. Samina appreciated the use of technology by Islamabad police in its
affairs and said that it is really a great service to immediately
respond to public complaints and address their issues. She said that
latest policing techniques are being used by Islamabad police like other
developed countries which are really helpful in securing the city.

Director (Operations) Syed Muhammad Bilal also presented a shield to Dr.
Samina and hoped that visit of the delegation would be helpful to
understand the modern techniques in the policing affairs. DNA
