International Islamic University Islamabad has hired social media sensation Dr Mansoor Akbar Kundi as professor of political science.
Kundi has become a social media sensation with his frequent appearance on YouTube channels.
He was suspended from the office of the vice chancellor of Bahauddin Zikiriya University Multan on orders of the Supreme Court.
His suspension was a result of a scam of a series of law colleges affiliated with BZU affecting thousands of students.
However, after suspension he started making appearances on social media that attracted public attention. He even drove a rickshaw on camera and won a lot of likes.
Interestingly, Dr Zafar Iqbal, dean of the Social Sciences Faculty where Dr Kundi has been hired, was also terminated from his service from the same university where he is working as dean now.
Both Dr Kundi and Dr Zafar Iqbal crack jokes together and make fun of the system that accommodates the like of these two.
Earlier, Dr Zafar Iqbal had also hired someone as a professor who was terminated from Allama Iqbal Open University.
Since Dr Zafar Iqbal is engaged in university politics, some high-ups are too frightened of him to take action on his activities.
University spokesperson is yet to issue a statement on this state of affairs.
