Uzbek, Kyrgyz Presidents discuss tension on Kyrgyz-Tajik border


Tashkent: A telephone conversation took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

The heads of states exchanged views in connection with the recent tragic events on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The President of Uzbekistan expressed deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and sincerely welcomed the achievement of bilateral agreements to de-escalate the situation.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the fruitful results of the events held within the program of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The importance of the practical implementation of agreements on priority cooperation projects, including the promotion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, was especially noted.

The course of preparations for the upcoming summits, including within the framework of regional structures, was also considered.
