ISLAMABAD, APR 15 – Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has been honored with the prestigious “Financial Literacy Champion Bank Award” among all mid-size banks in recognition of its outstanding performance in the National Financial Literacy Program (NFLP) 2023-24.
The award was presented on April 14, 2025, by the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at a ceremony held in Karachi. Mr. Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, President/CEO of ZTBL, received the award on behalf of the Bank.During FY 2023-24, ZTBL exceeded the SBP-assigned target of 310 training sessions by conducting 320 financial literacy sessions, reaching out to 10,414 individuals, including 5,281 women. These efforts significantly contributed to financial inclusion, leading to the opening of 9,351 new bank accounts by previously unbanked individuals.
Over the past four years (July 2021 to March 2025), ZTBL has provided financial literacy training to more than 37,000 people across Pakistan, empowering them with essential knowledge to make informed financial decisions.SBP has consistently acknowledged ZTBL’s performance under the NFLP. In addition to this year’s Mega Performance Award, ZTBL also received the Special Performance Award last year. Since 2018, the Bank has been recognized with 17 awards, shields, and certificates from SBP’s main office in Karachi as well as regional offices in Lahore, Gujranwala, Islamabad, and Faisalabad.
