HEC trains 40 academic, admin officials of varsities on PSG-2023

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, AUG 11 /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan organised a virtual workshop on ‘PSG-2023, Moving from Conformity to the Institutional Ownership’ at the HEC Lahore Regional Centre.

As many as 40 registrars, directors Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs) and Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORICs), controllers, heads of departments, and relevant faculty members from four higher education institutions, including University of Science and Technology, Lahore Leads University, Green International University, and Akhuwat Institute, Kasur, attended the training.

This training aimed to strengthen quality assurance practices in line with HEC standard guidelines of PSG-2023, share best practices on programme assessment, continuous quality improvement and documentation, and build capacity of all university personnel pertaining to quality assurance.

This workshop created awareness among the office-bearers regarding quality assurance and several other topics related to higher education, as it contained a detailed presentation to the participants on the precepts, standards and guidelines on quality education followed by a thorough question and answer session. The workshop highlighted the importance of result-oriented quality assurance with emphasis on outcome-based quality education. The training focused on the need for creating a dynamic mechanism for continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence via QA Framework.
