BEIJING, Oct 31 (DNA): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed its flight operations between Pakistan and China, with the first flight operating on October 30, reconnecting Islamabad and Beijing through direct air services.
The resumption marks a significant milestone in strengthening aviation links between the two friendly countries and reflects PIA’s commitment to restoring and maintaining regular operations in the Chinese market.
Under the renewed schedule, PIA will operate weekly flights between Islamabad and Beijing every Friday, providing passengers with a direct and convenient travel option between the two capitals. The airline also aims to offer competitive fares while ensuring consistent and reliable services.
In a major step towards expanding its network across China, PIA has strengthened its cooperation with three leading Chinese airlines, including Air China, Shenzhen Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
Through its partnership with Air China, passengers will benefit from onward connections to various domestic destinations through Beijing, a major aviation hub. Shenzhen Airlines will facilitate connectivity to key destinations through its Shenzhen-based network and other Chinese gateways, while Hainan Airlines will provide additional travel options through its network, including connections via Haikou.
These strategic partnerships will facilitate passenger connectivity to 26 destinations across China, offering greater travel flexibility and convenience beyond Beijing.
The restored air link is expected to benefit Pakistani and Chinese students, academic communities, business travellers, investors, commercial organizations, families, expatriates and tourists travelling between the two countries.
The improved connectivity is also expected to contribute to the promotion of bilateral trade, tourism, investment, educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.
PIA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its presence in the Chinese aviation market through reliable services, competitive fares, strategic airline partnerships and regular flight operations.
The national flag carrier will continue working with its Chinese partners and relevant stakeholders to enhance air connectivity and provide passengers with more convenient travel opportunities between the two countries.
The resumption of direct flights and expansion of connecting services represent an important development in promoting closer economic, commercial and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
