ISLAMABAD: SM Tanvir, Patron of the UBG group has opposed Federal Government’s decision to hold fresh elections for Trade Bodies in 2025. This decision is unjustified and unnecessary, as the business community has already conducted elections in September 2024, electing representatives for a two-year term until September 2026.
He added, holding another election after the last one, which took place in September 2024, is unfair and will create instability in the business sector. Instead of focusing on governance continuity and economic reforms, trade bodies will be forced into another electoral process, which will only divert attention from pressing economic challenges.
‘Today, I have urged FPCCI President Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh to immediately engage with all Associations and Chambers to develop a joint strategy on the issue in the larger interest of Pakistan’s economic stability’.
He said continuity was key to ensuring business-friendly policies, trade growth, and investor confidence. Let us stand together for the stability and progress of our business community.
