MONTERREY, JUN 15: Sweden began its FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign in style by beating Tunisia 5-1 in their Group F match at the Monterrey Stadium on Monday.
Yasin Ayari opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a powerful strike from outside the box before Alexander Isak doubled the lead on the half-hour mark.
Tunisia looked like it had found a way back after Omar Rekik’s glancing header found the back of the net in the closing stages of the first half.
However, Viktor Gyokeres bagged a third 14 minutes into the second period before substitute Mattias Svanberg scored 18 seconds after being subbed on.
